Reno is located in western Nevada on the Truckee River, on the eastern slope

The city site was just a river crossing when a large silver deposit was
discovered in the late 1850s. In 1868, with the arrival of the Central Pacific Railroad, the town was renamed Reno,

known as "the divorce capital of the world."
